Диалоги по английскому: A Football Match Dialogue
-What splendid seats. We’re able to see everything from here.
! Yes, Jan has certainly looked after us well. We should take him out to dinner after the match.
-That’s a good idea!
! And we must shout for his team. I hope Jan is in form today.
-I hope he is. I hear they choose players for tomorrow international match. If Jan plays well today he will be chosen.
! I hear the selection Committee is present at this match. Jan is to play his best as they are watching him.
— It must be exciting to play an international match.
! Here are the teams coming out. Jan is leading the London team. He must be the captain.
-He is.
! If Jan is chosen for the international match, he’ll have to give up his studies and go into training.
— But studies are more important than football. Moreover he’s been playing regularly and he is in good form.
! Jan’s lost the toss, and the Oxford captain has decided to play with the wind.
— They’ll have to play against the wind in the second half. Jan is playing centre-forward (центральный нападающий).
! This has been a grand game. Jan has played the game of his life.
— I’ve nearly lost my voice with shouting ‘Come on, London!’ Oh, I wish London could win!
! I don’t think they can. It must be nearly time now. It’s one goal each, and the Oxford defence is magnificent.
— Three minutes left.
! Look, Jan has got the ball. He’s going like lightning towards the Oxford goal!
— The Oxford centre—half (центральный полузащитник) is trying to stop him! Jan passed the ball to the inside right, a wonderful pass!
! The inside-right is down; he’s had to part with the ball.
— Jan’s got the ball again! It’s a goal!
! And there’s whistle for fulltime, and London have won. Well, they have to choose Jan for the international match now.
